Our Child Poverty Mission

Because without children, there's no future.

As Little World Builder grew as a brand, Maggie saw it as an opportunity to use her platform for a greater good - fighting against child poverty.

Why Child Poverty as A Cause?

Statistics from the World Bank & UNICEF show that 1 in 6 children live in extreme poverty. That is 1 in 6 children in the world that struggle to survive on a daily basis. A heart-rending reality that should not be the case.

With a soft spot for children (even before she became a mum), and a strong belief in education for the next generation, child poverty quickly became a cause Maggie got behind.

As Maggie would always say, “Without access to proper education, children have no chance at a better future, and without children, there is no future.”

And that is the reason why Maggie had been a fervent advocate of fighting against child poverty – contributing her first paycheck since 2007 till this date for this cause. With World Vision Australia, she started child sponsorship, donating to provide necessities for underprivileged kids in the world.

Doing More for Child Poverty with Little World Builder

Even with 3 sponsored children to date, Maggie always wants to do more...

With Little World Builder, she now has the perfect platform to spread more awareness to mums and dads around the world and contribute more to the cause.

Going forward, Little World Builder will utilize its platform as well as work with partners to develop or support programmes that help address the needs of underprivileged children from poor communities. Some examples include:

  • Giveaways to support NHS Staff: During the COVID lockdown in March 2020, LWB has sent out over 212 free kits to all NHS parents for their children.

  • Redeemable Kits in Exchange For Volunteering Hours: Little World Builders is partnered with Tempo Time Credit, a non-profit organisation in the UK to allow their volunteers, to claim free LWB kits for their children. Read More about Tempo Time Credit HERE.

  • One Kit for One Child: Inspired by Toms’ one-for-one donation model, Maggie commits to work towards donating one LWB kit to one child in poverty with one kit purchased in the near future.
